Stockholm Public Transport Administration - analysis for the regional commuter line Roslagsbanan’s new workshops

24 February 2011

Systecon has received an order from SL (Stockholm Transport) for project coordination and production technical analysis for the regional commuter line Roslagsbanan’s new workshops. One of the main objectives in this project is to build a simulation model in SIMLOX, to enable long term analyses of different scenarios and input during the concept phase.

Systecons work can be devided into two main areas – project coordination during the concept phase and simulation and analysis. The project aim is to determine at an early stage the requirements on the depots, in order to meet the maintenance needs from future traffic and planned operations.

Systecon will be using the inhouse developed analysis tool SIMLOX. An  event driven simulation tool that enables detailed analyses of how technical system's performance vary over time given different operational and logistics support scenarios.

Head of Business Area Transportation and Industry, Pegvak Assadi comments the order:

-”By using our simulation and analysis tool SIMLOX and our experience, we can identify and validate in an early phase how the depot solution and the associated resources shall be dimensioned. We can evaluate different possible solutions and find bottlenecks and thus present decision support that is more than just experience and educated guesses.”
